Staff at the new IKEA store in Coventry have been getting
coaching in more ways than one!
The Swedish furniture giant is unveiling its first city centre
store in Coventry in December and staff have been undergoing
training at its outlets in Nottingham and Wednesbury.
And city travel firm Harry Shaw City Cruiser has been
transporting four coach-loads off IKEA staff to those stores for
several weeks in the run-up to the opening.
John Shaw, director of Harry Shaw City Cruiser, said:
“The new IKEA in Coventry city centre is a major development
and will attract not only regional but national attention.
“We were delighted to be approached by the company to assist
with the transportation of staff from the new Coventry outlet to
Nottingham and Wednesbury.
“Such are the numbers that we have had to use four coaches on
a daily basis for a series of weeks.
“IKEA take the training of their staff extremely seriously
and we are very pleased to have helped play a part in that.
“It shows the flexibility that we have that at any one time
we can be taking local children to school, transporting staff to
training across the region and taking holidaymakers all over the
world.”
