A Coventry travel firm is staying orange at the same time as going greenHarry Shaw City Cruiser, the Binley-based coach operator, has just undertaken a major investment in a new vehicle to add to its fleet. The new coach is one of the most environmentally friendly on the market as it features a Scania Euro 4 engine. Every other Harry Shaw coach, which are famous across the city for their orange livery, is fitted with a Euro 3 engine which up to now has been one of the most ‘green’. But the Euro 4 standard engine has less emissions and is going to be the new benchmark for vehicles in the future. Robert Shaw, a director of Harry Shaw City Cruiser, said: “We have always been committed to using the most efficient, environmentally friendly vehicles.
The new coach will become part the company’s fleet which takes holidaymakers from across Coventry and Warwickshire to a variety of destinations across Europe. Harry Shaw City Cruiser also operates day and weekend trips across the UK. Robert added: “It is absolutely vital that we move with the times and that has what has helped to maintain the business over the past five decades.
